Dubai Palm Islands

One accusation that can never be leveled at the property developers of Dubai is that they are unimaginative nor unambitious. In fact, the level of ambition in the city is what has made the Dubai travel industry consistently bankable. A look around the city at some of its showpiece developments is enough to make anyone aware of the potential this city has. The Burj al-Arab for example stands high above the city, a testament to what is possible with ambition, imagination and hard work. This combination is clear again in the development of the Dubai Islands off the coast of the city.

Having already proven that man-made islands are viable with the man-made private island on which the Burj al-Arab stands, the Dubai travel industry intends to show just how far the medium can be taken. The Palm Islands are three separate archipelagos off the coasts of Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira. In total, when completed they will add 520 kilometers of beaches to the city and countless places for tourists to go, be entertained and looked after, and enjoy a unique experience.

So far, only the Jumeirah and Palm Jebel Ali islands are completed, but they are already seeing development and will soon be ready for full occupancy, and once the Deira Palm is completed Dubai will have yet another remarkable string to its bow. The Atlantis resort on the Palm Jumeirah was opened in 2008 with a performance by the Australian megastar Kylie Minogue. Ambition, imagination and hard work – it can make dreams come true.
